If our concepts and language about leadership were based on a reality that was serving its potential, there would be no need to disrupt our sense of who leaders are and what leaders do.
The Prometheus Commons Framework™ is a collective investment. We continually work to refine a way to help experts or novices to navigate the complexity of humans and how they lead.
The Framework helps open connections around the interplay between knowledge, skills, and action and who we are as people.
The first exploratory version of this framework was introduced in 2020 at the Association of Leadership Educators conference and published in the Integral Review later that year. The second release (version 2.1) was published in Dec 2021 after 16 months of workshops, interviews, and explorations. Version 3.0 (in 2023) is a more refined synthesis with remarkable additions. It strives to use everyday language - this is now published in an editorially reviewed article in the Integral Review Journal.
The Framework is a Creative Commons open resource with usage and reuse rights, available without cost, but with attribution required. The Prometheus Project is the curator and controls the content and versions.
At the start of 2026, the Framework was extended with an extrapolation of the idea of “Choice”. That extention is expressed as the Prometheus Choice Loop, or ”The Loop”.
The original framework is rightly seen as the elements or components from which we lead. The Loop is the process that makes up the leading.
