WARMER VOICES

Warmer Voices is different.

Not a workshop. Not a lecture. It is experiential development.

We are so habituated to intellectual discourse, thinking, worry, and doing that we neglect some of the richest information available - warm data. We find it in reflection, listening, introspection, quiet, ease, empathy, imagination, expression, and compassion. Those things can feel out of place in the modern world and workplace. But the simple Warmer Voices experience effortlessly connects us.

Warmer Voices Experiences have a novel cadence and materials. The action is unforced, relaxed, and impactful. The only content is what is brought by the attendees, about their own experience, liminality, and imagination.

Is there ‘warm data’ in this experience? - absolutely, yes.*

Are there rules/principles?

  • There is no prepared content – you are the content.

  • Give space, share space, hold space, open space.

  • Demonstrate civil candor and embody first-person authenticity.

  • Difference/novelty is information, and information is transforming.

  • The impressions linger after the close - seeds linger and intersections reveal what you did not see.

  • There is no consensus or conclusion intended; those may emerge in their own time and place, they are useful elsewhere, but would be distractions in the sessions.

* “Warm data”, a term coined by Nora Bateson, can be described as things we can notice as a relationship, and “things” that are seen when we look in different ways and places. Warmer Voices is a Prometheus warm data practice. It is exaptive to, but it is not, a Bateson Warm Data Lab/PNP.

Warmer Voices is the subject of some of the Prometheus Newsletter editions. This is one of them on “warm data”.
